Usability in scroll bar
Well as thought, here is also a place to post experiences on a day-to-day. Combine the theory to practice.
I did a survey with students of the College who work (work in a college that also offers elementary and high school), and to analyze the colors came, and source material that students would access the portal of the student.
In version 1.0 is available only access to the bulletin, however other options are being implemented and will be delivered in version 1.5.
The coordination and management of the college received 3 links to mothers who found it difficult to roll the scroll bar on the right.
According to what they say, the bar does not scroll the entire screen, only the part of the newsletter, and they never saw this, so the difficulty. But as we have to meet all kinds of public, including parents of students, I will change to sidebar normal.
However, the Portal is a project of the Family, an exclusive channel of communication with parents, for, in addition to the newsletter, parents get inside the content that is taught to their children, receive messages direct coordination.
This reminds me of my time in college, I faked signature of my father and handed to the coordinator at the flushed face. With this system of communication with unique ID for the parents, I see the creativity of moçada to delete these recadinhos.

would not be a little better reduce the area of the top and the menu the portal of the student?
Check the roll is minimal and with it would be without the scroll bar to my view that is ideal for you.
But tell me what was the solution that adopted for this problem?

I saw that you agreed that the top is great, really Too much on top as the boxes of menus. Earlier today I did a test and decreased 30% and the top menu. It was even better. And the solution is adopted, however had to make a larger reduction in the menus (plus 10%), because some series have more than other materials, such as the 3rd year of high school, and generated a small scroll.
